Charity News: Clean-C and The Most Beautiful Beach Run in the world
Did you know that our classic scented candles are a way to give back to local non-profit organisations? We’ve paired up with a community-based beach clean-up initiative, Clean-C, who is the new beneficiary of funds from our Clifton Beach classic scented candle sales. Since our Clifton Beach fragrance is a tribute to the natural beauty of the Cape coastline, we thought it fitting that a percentage of sales be donated to this important organisation.
How It All Began
The founder and creator, Gregory Player, began this NPO as a marine conservationist in 2013 with a goal to keep South Africa’s beaches beautiful as well as elevate awareness around the importance of marine conservation.
Their good work helps makes a trip to one of the city’s stunning beaches more pleasant but also healthier for indigenous coastal marine life. Besides this incredibly noble cause, one of the NPO’s other main objectives is creating jobs through their recycling initiative, helping individuals who may have difficulty finding employment. It’s truly inspiring to see a group of people looking after the environment, the animals and people all at once.
The Most Beautiful Beach Run in the World
On the 17th of November, Clean- C will be hosting a fundraising event, The Most Beautiful Beach Run in The World. The route starts on the lovely Blouberg Beach then back towards Sunset Beach and finishes where you’ve started, giving participants a stunning view of the city of Cape Town.
A Beautiful Run with A Great Cause
The fundraiser aims to create sheltered employment opportunities for 2000 people in 2020 as well as using funds to purchase non-perishable food items and supplement the food parcels with cash payments.
